Privacy policy

This is a static site with no accounts, no logins and no forms. Here is what that means in practice.

What we do not collect

We have no sign-up, no newsletter, no comment section and no contact form. There is nowhere on this site to type your name, your email or a card number, so we hold none of those things. If you want to reach us you send an ordinary email, and that email sits in an ordinary inbox.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and to see which pages people find useful, and to record when someone clicks a booking link, which is how we know whether any of this is working. GA4 sets cookies and processes data on Google's infrastructure under Google's own terms. It tells us aggregate patterns: how many people read the safety guide, which pages get abandoned. It does not tell us who you are.

You can block it with any tracker-blocking extension or by turning off third-party scripts, and the site works exactly the same without it.

What happens when you click a booking link

Clicking through to GetYourGuide or Viator takes you onto their site, under their privacy policy, not ours. The link carries an identifier telling them the visit came from us, which is how the commission described in our affiliate disclosure is attributed. Anything you then enter, dates, names, payment details, goes to them and never passes through us. We never see it.

Embedded content

Some pages embed an interactive Google Maps frame so you can see where the balloons launch relative to the archaeological zone. Loading a map means your browser contacts Google, and Google may set cookies as a result. Maps are lazy-loaded, so on pages you never scroll to the bottom of, that contact does not happen at all.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes standard server request data, including IP addresses, as part of serving pages and protecting the site from abuse. That is infrastructure logging, not something we query or retain for our own purposes.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data of our own, there is nothing here for us to export or delete on request. For data held by Google or Cloudflare, their own privacy tools and policies apply. For data held by GetYourGuide or Viator after you book, contact them directly, as they are the ones with your booking.
